About Us

Our Story

It all started with 3 chickens.  Living in a suburban neighborhood with an HOA meant that having chickens (or any farm animals for that matter) was only something we could dream about, and also against the rules.  That all changed when a relative decided he would not accept 3 chickens gifted to him on his birthday.  From the moment we laid eyes on Astrid, Cinnamon, & Rosebud we were hooked.  We went to great lengths to hide their existence from utility service workers, walking dogs, and neighbors.  They were our hidden chickens, the spark that ignited a passion,  and we still love them dearly.  As they grew and started to explore our yard (and occasionally escape) we realized how badly we desired more space not only for our chickens, but also for our 4 dogs and our kids - the 7 "C's" - to run and explore.

After 5 years of dreaming, searching, and learning, we settled on a property with about 14 acres and a house just big enough for our large family of 9.  Using the information we have read and gleaned from watching others with much more experience, we are jumping feet first into the world of regenerative agriculture.  Our goal is to grow the best quality food while continuing to improve the health of our soil.

We are Joshua & Shannon and along with our kids (Calliana, Caleb, Cayden, Cayson, Catarina, Camia & Caya), we look forward to sharing our journey and the fruits of our labor as we continue to C's The Day.

What's happening at the farm?

Our chickens and ducks are working on growing so we will be able to offer our farm fresh, pasture raised eggs soon!

Our cornish cross chickens are raised on pasture while enjoying sunshine and snacking on bugs and grass.  They are growing fast and will be processed soon.

Our pigs are growing while rotationally grazing and foraging throughout our pasture and fields.

The turkeys are growing more each day in the brooder and will be out on pasture soon!

Our first cows have arrived and we anxiously await the first birth to happen on farm.  Quinn, our Irish dexter cow, is due to calf in late June.

Our garden area is just getting started as we build a greenhouse, assemble garden beds, and start composting!  We have planted raspberry and blueberry plants around the property and we look forward to adding more perennial fruit trees and plants.
